ARTIS Royal Zoo Experience

Visit the elephant calves playing outside, historic monuments, and beautiful flower gardens. Imagine yourself in Madagascar at the renovated Kerbertterras (former lion enclosure) and admire how the ring-tailed lemurs, ruffed ruffs, and Madagascar radiated tortoises live together here.

Planetarium Adventure

Micropia Experience

Visit the world's only microbe museum in the heart of Amsterdam. At ARTIS-Micropia, a hidden world becomes visible. Yet without microbes there would be no life on Earth. They are everywhere, in the air, on your skin and in your gut. They make food taste good, keep you healthy and maintain balance in nature.

At Micropia, this invisible world comes to life through living microbes, microscopes, interactive displays and stories from the lab technicians.

  • Not allowed:Please note that ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo is a smoke-free park
  • Pets are not allowed (assistance dogs are permitted; they need to be registered at the ticket office upon presentation of a dog identification card showing that the dog has been trained)
  • Know in advance:Your booked time slot is for the entrance to Micropia. Entrance to the zoo is on the same day without timeslot
  • ARTIS-Micropia is open daily: 10.00am-5.00pm
  • ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo is open daily including holidays: 1 March to 31 October: From 9.00am - 6.00pm, 1 November to 28 February: From 9.00am - 5.00pm
  • During the holidays, adjusted opening hours apply to both locations: 24, 25, 26 December 9 am - 5 pm, 31 December 9 am - 4 pm, 1 January 10 am - 5 pm
