A world-class giant panda conservation and research base, integrating scientific research, breeding, rewilding training, and popular science education. This is one of China's important giant panda conservation and research bases.
The park is located in the Wolong Nature Reserve, surrounded by mountains with high forest coverage and fresh air. The habitat closely resembles the natural environment of wild giant pandas, allowing them to live more freely.
Visitors can enjoy spacious outdoor activity areas and naturally designed panda enclosures where they can observe pandas climbing trees, rolling around, eating bamboo, and playing up close. The tranquil environment allows for leisurely observation of the pandas and experiencing the charm of the natural forest.
Through science popularization exhibitions and interactive visits, visitors gain a deeper understanding of the entire process of panda conservation, scientific research, and rewilding training.
The Shenshuping Base is located in Gengda Town, Wolong Nature Reserve, about 110–130 kilometers from Chengdu, approximately a 2–3 hour drive. It is recommended to make a reservation 1-3 days in advance, and during peak season (June-August, National Day), it is advised to reserve 1 week in advance.
Feeding, throwing objects, making loud noises, banging on windows, and using flash photography are strictly prohibited. Pets, smoking, picnicking, and littering are also not allowed. Climbing over the fence, teasing the giant pandas, and live streaming/commercial filming without permission are prohibited. Maintain a safe distance from pandas and do not approach or disturb them; violations may result in a lifetime ban from entering the area.
The base is at an altitude of 1700 meters with temperatures 5-8℃ lower than Chengdu. Visitors should bring a light jacket in summer and a thick down jacket, windproof pants, and gloves in winter.
Best viewing times are from 9:00–11:00 (breakfast/activity) and 15:00–17:00 (afternoon activity). Pandas usually rest around midday, so visiting during off-peak hours is recommended.
These tickets can't be rescheduled or cancelled.
