This castle boasts an impressive collection of 17 towers and exudes a fairy-tale-like charm with its massive medieval fortifications. Within these walls is a remarkable treasure: the famed Apocalypse tapestry. Measuring at 140 meters in length, this magnificent work stands as the largest woven piece from the Middle Ages, vividly portraying the historical, social, and political landscape of France during the 14th century—a period marked by the Hundred Years War, plague, and famine.
Created over seven years, its six-meter-high panels feature 90 scenes that are beautifully illuminated in a well-lit gallery.
