The Aomori Nebuta Festival is a vibrant celebration where floats are propelled by people, weaving back and forth along the street and spinning for the audience. These impressive structures are usually nine meters wide and five meters high.
The Nebuta Festival dancers, known as "jumping people," wear gorgeous costumes and dance while chanting "Rassera, rassera." The festival offers reserved seating so you can enjoy the numerous Nebuta floats comfortably. Parade start times are from 19:00 on August 2nd and 3rd, and from 18:45 on August 4th to 6th, starting at the intersection of Shinmachi and Yanagimachi streets with approximately 20 large floats participating.
Thoughtful service is provided at the ticket collection area with Japanese, English, and Chinese language support (Chinese staff availability depends on the schedule). When collecting tickets, similar services are available on-site, though staff presence may vary due to scheduling adjustments. This year introduces a "Custom Option" allowing you to choose from a Special Bento Box, Japanese Hand Towel, Small Towel, or Limited Edition T-shirt.
In the event of rain, the festival continues with the Sandman float covered by a large plastic sheet. Note that the seating area has no roof or sunshade. Children aged 3 and under do not need to purchase a seat if held on an adult's lap without occupying a seat alone. Due to limited traffic control time, it may be challenging to see all the Sandman floats.
Original festival-limited edition T-shirts are available in generous sizes (L~XXL) for your comfort during the event. Please note that no seat changes will be accepted on the day of the event, and our staff will not individually guide you to your seat. The type of seating for reserved seats will be arranged on-site and may include regular chairs.
