Your Experience
The tour starts at Born Market, where your local guide will welcome the group. During the visit, you will learn about the history of the market and discover the impressive Roman and medieval ruins preserved inside, a clear testimony to Barcelona’s commercial past.
The walking route continues to Santa Caterina Market, one of the city’s most distinctive markets, known for its colourful roof and its importance in daily neighbourhood life. The guide will explain the evolution of local trade and the role of markets in Catalan gastronomic culture.
After the visit, the first gastronomic stop takes place at a traditional vermouth bar, where you will enjoy two tapas and a vermouth in an authentic local atmosphere. The walk then continues to Irati Restaurant, specialising in “pinchos”, where you will taste three of them and one drink, representing the informal gastronomy of northern Spain. The experience ends at La Boqueria Market, Barcelona’s most famous market, where the guide will provide a final explanation of its history, products and current relevance, bringing nearly three hours of cultural and gastronomic exploration to a close.
