Designed by architect Kengo Kuma, the British Antique Museum [BAM Kamakura] is Japan's first museum dedicated to British antiques. Visitors can explore a world reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes through a reproduction of his room and an exhibition filled with Victorian-era antiques.
On each floor, antiques are displayed based on their era:
The museum opened on September 23, 2022, in Kamakura and aims to share the world of antiques with future generations. Authentic British antiques dating back over 100 years are displayed throughout the facility.
Earphones are recommended for audio experiences. Photos are allowed on all floors except experience areas. Luggage lockers are available outside the museum for a fee, but wheelchair access is not provided.
