Scenic Views

Stroll along the scenic suspension bridge in the park and overlook the terrain of Qingshui Valley from above. The stream cascades down from the top of the cliff, and from a distance, the cliff face resembles Guanyin standing sideways, holding a vase and sprinkling water, hence the name.

History and Renovation

Guanyin Waterfall Scenic Area was closed for nearly 22 years due to cliff collapses and road closures caused by the 921 earthquake and Typhoon Morakot. It has since reopened after renovations by the Alishan National Scenic Area Administration and the Chiayi County Government.

Nature's Spectacle

The area boasts eight waterfalls, cascading directly from the mountain peaks and cascading through forest valleys, each creating a unique spectacle. The waterfalls and valley scenery are readily available, making it an ideal destination for a forest adventure!

Taiping Cloud Ladder

Taiping Cloud Ladder, touted as the highest and longest scenic suspension bridge in Taiwan, is located at the edge of the Taiping Scenic Area, spanning Taiping Mountain and Turtle Mountain in Chiayi. It's one of the best spots to admire the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Plain and even the Taiwan Strait.

  • You can enter by scanning the QR code at the "Guanyin Waterfall Ticket Booth".
  • The entrance is marked "Guanyin Waterfall Registration Area" (No. 44-1, Xixinliao, Wenfeng Village, Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County).
  • For driving safety reasons, cars and motorcycles are generally prohibited from entering the park. Entry is by foot or by shuttle bus.

Taiping Cloud Ladder

  • Those who have purchased tickets online, please walk directly up the stairs to the entrance of the Taiping Ladder, and then have the staff scan your QR code at the [Taiping Ladder Ticket Checkpoint] to enter.
  • The safe number of passengers on the bridge at any given time is limited to 300. On-site control is only implemented for the safe passenger capacity on the bridge surface.
  • The Meishan-Taiping route has been announced to prohibit Class A large passenger vehicles from traveling on it; only Class B minibuses and regular passenger cars are allowed to pass.
  • There are steps at both the front and back of the ladder. For safety reasons, strollers and wheelchairs are not allowed to enter.
  • On the ladder, it is forbidden to use umbrellas, wear high heels, run, jump, make noise, climb, shake, march in unison, or throw objects. Visitors are requested to enter in an orderly manner and follow the designated route. When the red warning light is flashing, visitors are prohibited from entering, and visitors on the bridge should follow the instructions of service personnel and leave as soon as possible.
