Touted as the highest and longest scenic suspension bridge in Taiwan, Taiping Cloud Ladder is located at the edge of the Taiping Scenic Area, spanning Taiping Mountain and Turtle Mountain in Chiayi. It's one of the best spots to admire the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Plain and even the Taiwan Strait. Climbing the Cloud Ladder, you'll feel the gentle mountain breeze, vast open space, and unobstructed views. On a clear day, you can overlook the Chiayi-Tainan Plain when the clouds rise, making it seem like you're walking on clouds. In the distance, lush tea plantations with rolling hills carry the gentle aroma of tea on the breeze.
The bridge deck is designed with wooden planks for easy walking, and its sturdy structure ensures virtually no swaying. Through the open iron frame in the center of the bridge, you can look down at the verdant fields below. Thrill-seekers shouldn't miss this!
A ban on Class A large passenger vehicles has been announced for the Meishan to Taiping route; only Class B minibuses and ordinary passenger cars are permitted. For safety reasons, entry into the ladder is prohibited during non-open access periods. Anyone who enters without authorization will be solely responsible for the consequences.
Visitors who are clearly incapacitated or intoxicated are strictly prohibited from entering. Additionally, those with acrophobia, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, pregnancy, or other physical conditions that make them unsuitable for passage should not enter for safety reasons. There are steps at both the front and back of the ladder. The number of people allowed on the bridge at any one time is limited to 300.
On-site control of the number of people allowed on the bridge surface is only implemented. On the ladder, it is forbidden to use umbrellas, wear high heels, run, jump, make noise, climb, shake, march in unison, or throw objects. Visitors are requested to enter in order and follow the designated route. When the red warning light is flashing, visitors are prohibited from entering. Visitors on the bridge should follow the instructions of service personnel and leave as soon as possible.
