Cirque du Soleil's 'Auana: Honolulu
In Honolulu, Cirque du Soleil presents its inaugural resident production in Hawaii. Crafted with cultural creative producer Dr. Aaron J. Salā, the show marries traditional Hawaiian language, song, and hula with spectacular circus performances. The narrative traces Polynesian migration stories to spiritual ties with the land, weaving sacred mo'olelo (stories) of the islands into a fascinating tapestry.
Experience mythical legends like that of Māmala through mesmerizing acts. Witness foot jugglers showcase their incredible artistry and aerial hoop artists paying tribute to Hina—the moon goddess—amidst a Rola Bola act celebrating Hawaii's surfing legacy. The Adventure
Join the Trickster, a Hawaiian youth on his way back home as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery across 8 chapters that trace the island paradise's heritage. He reconnects with his roots and discovers joy in community life. The show is inspired by 'Auana (to wander), capturing an adventurous spirit akin to that of a traveller.
