Deeg Bhawan is a palace complex in the town of Deeg, built by the Jat rulers of Bharatpur State. Badan Singh established Deeg as a seat of the Jat dynasty around 1730, and his son Maharaja Suraj Mal expanded the palace and enclosed it within a fort, completing much of the present complex by 1772.
The palace blends Rajput and Mughal architectural styles and is laid out on the Mughal charbagh plan, with the buildings arranged around two large reservoirs, Rup Sagar and Gopal Sagar. The complex includes several named mansions, among them Suraj Bhawan, Gopal Bhawan, Kishan Bhawan, Nand Bhawan, and Keshav Bhawan.
Deeg Palace is particularly noted for its elaborate fountain system, in which hundreds of small water jets set into the reservoir walls were historically operated using bullock-drawn leather buckets and a pulley mechanism rather than any mechanical pumping, a technique still demonstrated on special occasions.
