A taiko drum performer with incredible athletic ability will captivate the stage! In addition to taiko drums, you can also enjoy the sounds of other traditional Japanese instruments such as the shamisen, koto, chappa, and shinobue.
Event period: July 10th (Fri) - 20th (Mon), 2026. Showtime is scheduled for two sessions daily, with an exception on the final day when only the first session at 13:00 will be held. Children under 6 years old are not permitted to enter. Your seat number will be announced on the day of the event; please note that seat selection is not possible.
Attracting over 10 million viewers worldwide, DRUM TAO expresses itself through overwhelming performances centered around the traditional Japanese instrument, the taiko drum. In 2016, all performances on Off-Broadway in New York were sold out. Newsweek magazine raved, "TAO will become the 'face' of Japan to promote it to the world!" In 2020, the outdoor permanent theater "TAO no Oka" opened in Aso Kuju National Park. On April 9, 2026, the permanent theater "DRUM TAO THEATER KYOTO" will open in Kyoto. In 2026, TAO plans to hold over 1,000 performances annually with its three teams.
