Your Experience
Your guide leads you inside the Accademia Gallery to view art by Michelangelo. Look at the large statue of David, which stands 17 feet tall. It was carved from one big block of marble that workers once thought could not be used.
Florence Historic Center
The walk starts in the Medici district near their home and the San Lorenzo Church. You will see the Medici Chapels and move toward the Duomo Complex. This area includes the Baptistery with its golden doors, Brunelleschi's Dome, and Giotto's bell tower.
Stroll through old streets where Dante lived and find the Church of Orsanmichele. Visit the Straw Market and touch the nose of the porcellino statue. In Piazza Signoria, see the Fountain of Neptune and the Loggia dei Lanzi. Look at Palazzo Vecchio and walk along the Vasari Corridor to Ponte Vecchio.
Ponte Vecchio is the oldest bridge in Florence and has many jewelry shops. After this section, there is a break for lunch or free time in the old city.
Uffizi Gallery
In the afternoon, visit the Uffizi Gallery for works by Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci. See paintings like Mars and Venus and Adoration of the Magi. The tour ends on the Uffizi Terrace with views of city monuments.
You may stay in the gallery after the guide finishes to look at art alone.
