Your Experience
Enjoy a half-day adventure exploring one of Mallorca’s most iconic cave systems while still having time for other activities. You'll be back at your resort by approximately 2pm, leaving you free to enjoy the afternoon.
Getting started
Upon booking, expect two emails: one confirming your reservation and providing a voucher, and another detailing your exact pick-up location and time. Collection is from either your Alcúdia hotel or a nearby meeting point. Departure occurs around 9am as you board an air-conditioned coach with an English-speaking escort guide to manage the journey.
- Coach transfer — Alcúdia to Hams' Caves: Journey inland across Mallorca toward the east coast, traversing through picturesque countryside en route to Porto Cristo. Your guide will offer commentary about the regions you pass during this leg of the trip.
- Blue Cave: Begin your exploration with the Blue Cave, renowned for its stunning visual appeal and dramatic beauty.
- Round Cave: Next up is the Round Cave, an expansive open space featuring a botanical garden within. The atmosphere here contrasts sharply with that of enclosed cave passages due to its scale and openness.
- Classic Cave: Proceed into the Classic Cave, known for its distinctive hook-shaped stalactites and stalagmites which inspired Hams' Caves’ name. In Mallorcan, “Hams” translates to fish hooks, a nod to these unique formations that make this cave system so recognizable. Discovered in 1905, it is estimated the caves are around 10 million years old.
- Free time at the site: Post-cave visitation allows for some leisure time to explore the gift shop or enjoy a meal at the on-site burger bar before boarding the coach again.
