Transport to Montserrat

Leave behind the hustle and bustle of Barcelona and embark on a scenic journey to Montserrat, the mystical mountain range that holds a special place in Catalonia’s heart. Your adventure begins aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned coach, departing from a convenient meeting point in the city. As you drive through the changing landscapes, the urban skyline gradually gives way to rolling hills and rugged peaks. Along the way, your guide may share stories and insights into the region’s history and culture, setting the tone for the spiritual and natural wonders that await. Soon, the silhouette of Montserrat will rise before you—a majestic formation of serrated peaks that seems almost otherworldly.

Basilica of Montserrat

Visit the Basilica of Montserrat, which houses the Virgin of Montserrat, who was the patron saint of Catalonia. You can also admire from a distance the famous 12th-century Romanesque carving of the Verge Moreneta, better known as the Black Madonna. The treasures within the monastery are almost as breathtaking as the views from it.

You will then be given some free time to visit the audio-visual exhibition about the creation of Montserrat and its rich history, as well as get to taste the typical of the mountain, handmade at the monastery itself. Depending on the time you arrive, you may get to enjoy the beautiful performance by the Escolania of Montserrat, the children’s choir at the sanctuary.
