The facility offers various experience corners where you can engage in unique activities:

  • Admission ticket + birthstone keychain-making experience: Choose your favorite stone from over 30 different colored natural stones to make a keychain. Duration: Approx. 15 minutes.
  • Admission ticket + fossil excavation experience: Dig up 1 or 2 real fossils such as ammonites, amber, shark teeth, trilobites, and mosasaurus teeth. You can take home all the fossils you excavate! Duration: Approximately 10 minutes.
  • Admission ticket + gemstone excavation experience: Excavate gemstones like amethyst, lapis lazuli, fluorite, etc., using a hammer. Duration: 10 minutes.
  • Admission ticket + Original coaster making: Create a coaster by weaving rattan used in traditional Toyooka Kiryu Zaiku (Willow Crafts). Diameter: Approx. 10 cm.
  • Admission ticket + Mini Basket Making: Make a small basket using rattan and willow, produced in Toyooka.

The museum is located at the entrance to the national natural monument, Genbudo Cave, surrounded by abundant nature. Spend your day exploring the exhibits and enjoying additional amenities like a restaurant, cafe, and confectionery shop.

Must Know

  • In accordance with the Hyogo Prefecture Ordinance on Prevention of Passive Smoking, smoking is prohibited throughout the building.
  • You may take photos and videos inside the museum, however, please refrain from using tripods. In addition, it is prohibited to use photographs for commercial purposes without permission.
  • Please refrain from eating or drinking (including candy and gum) inside the museum.
  • Pets are not allowed inside the museum building. Pets must be held in your arms or a pet carrier in the shop and restaurant (terrace area).
  • If you wish to use the terrace area in the restaurant, please ask a member of staff. The entrance location differs from the normal entrance to the restaurant.
  • The museum management assumes no responsibility for any accidents or thefts that occur in the parking lot.
