Tour Overview
Begin your adventure in Huonville with a chance to grab takeaway coffee and essentials before setting off on a scenic drive along the picturesque Huon River. Discover why this region is renowned for its apple orchards, craft cider makers, boutique winemakers, and salmon production.
Tahune Airwalk
Next up is Tahune Airwalk, where you'll enjoy two hours to explore. Choose from one or all three walks available:
- The famous Airwalk: A 600-meter journey through the tree canopy at a height of 50 meters among some of the world's tallest flowering plants—eucalyptus gum trees.
- Swinging Bridges Track (3.4 km): Cross two swinging bridges over the Huon River—the first being 100m long and the Picton Swinging Bridge measuring 64m in length.
- Riverbank Walk: Enjoy a peaceful stroll along the river, surrounded by ancient Huon pines that are up to 2,500 years old.
Hastings Caves
After lunch, head south to Hastings Caves. With your included entrance ticket, join a guided tour of Australia's largest dolomite cave system and learn about its geological history. Keep an eye out for native wildlife such as platypus, quolls, pademelons, and various birds.
Local Cider Producer
On the way back to Hobart, stop at a local cider producer for tastings of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Enjoy a complimentary apple pie if you'd like—a perfect end to your day of exploration.
