The Hölloch Cave Parcours Muotathal offers a unique adventure with its 5-hour cave hike featuring fantastic rock formations. Participants will experience the acoustics and darkness of a cave, guided by a certified diploma guide according to SSH (Swiss School for Caving). The program is ideal in any weather condition.
Explore mysterious cave passages as you climb, crawl, and slip through them. The Hölloch, located in the rural and beautiful Muotathal, is one of the largest explored caves globally, with over 200 kilometers mapped out. This adventure involves climbing, crawling, and navigating ladders, suitable for anyone with average fitness.
At the Hölloch Centre, you'll meet your guide and other participants before being equipped for the tour. Throughout the experience, you’ll receive exciting information about the cave’s history, geology, and its inhabitants. The underground climbing park includes side passages, narrow spots, ladders, deep sections, and more.
Witness impressive rock formations and stalactites during your journey. In good weather conditions, sinter formations can be admired barefoot to protect them, or you may explore the cave surface on a karst hike.
This family-friendly activity is suitable as a team event with requirements of average fitness and sure-footedness. It’s available for groups from 6 people, with smaller groups able to join others. The cave temperature remains at 6°C year-round with almost 100% humidity, so thermal underwear is highly recommended.
