Must Know
- The KANSAI THRU PASS does not cover JR trains, including the Shinkansen.
- The pass is valid for non-consecutive use within its specified period.
- Available only for foreign tourists with a temporary visitor visa.
- Not applicable for airport transfers on the JR lines (such as Kansai Airport Express "Haruka").

Booking FAQs

<li><span style="background-color: transparent;">The PASS is for one person only.</span></li>
<li>The PASS holder can use the trains and buses in the designated area during the period of validity. <span style="background-color: transparent;">It cannot be used on JR lines, airport limousine bus or reserved seat buses. It may not be valid on some routes.</span></li>
<li>When using the PASS, insert it into the automatic ticket gate in the direction of the arrow printed on the ticket.</li>
<li>The pass cannot be reissued at ticket gates and ticket counters.</li>
<li>When using the reserved seat express train of the Nankai Electric Railway, Kinki Nippon Railway, Semboku Rapid, Keihan electric railway please purchase a separate express ticket, special coach ticket and/or reserved seat ticket.</li>
<li>The PASS can be reissued at major stations if the magnetic strip fails to function during your journey.</li>
<li><span style="background-color: transparent;">The PASS will not be reissued when lost.</span></li>
<li>Tickets will not be refunded for suspended services by a transportation company once the PASS has been used.</li>
<li>If the PASS is used illegally, it will be invalidated and collected, and the additional fare will be charged, according to the regulations of each transportation company.</li>
<li>Separate fare will be required for journeys outside the valid zone. Please inquire about the station staff. <span style="background-color: transparent;">Please be advised that you may be required to present the back of your PASS on routes operated by some transportation companies.</span></li>
<li>Please do not bring the PASS close to the magnet (smartphone cases, etc).</li>
<li>One day is counted as the duration from the first train to the last train in a day. (Not for 24 hours from the time first used.)</li>
<li>The QR-Code and passport (or passport copy) of all passengers must be presented</li>
<li>If the KTP becomes unusable due to magnetic strip failure during the journey, the following stations will reissue a new one. Please check with a member of station staff.</li>
<li>Customers staying in Japan for a short term for language lessons and work, and customers with long-stay visa (for working holiday, work, marriage, etc.) cannot purchase or use the pass.</li>
