'NAKED meets Nijo Castle 2026' is an immersive art exhibition held at night at the World Heritage site, Nijo Castle. Commemorating the 400th anniversary of the 'Kanei Gyoko'—a grand event in 1626 where Tokugawa Hidetada and Iemitsu welcomed Emperor Go-Mizunoo to Nijo Castle, considered one of the largest cultural events of the Edo period—this exhibition explores the aesthetics of Kanei culture, which dramatically evolved the 'Japanese design culture' that continues to influence modern life, such as kimono and daily aesthetics, through art.

As you explore areas such as the Karamon Gate, the inner moat, and the kitchen garden, you can immerse yourself in projection mapping on historical buildings and spatial performances featuring light, sound, and scent. Based on the aesthetics and sensibilities of Tokugawa Masako, a central figure of Kanei culture, the creativity behind traditional beauty is reconstructed as art. - The final admission for this event is 21:00. Depending on the length of the queue, admission reception may close before 21:00. Please note that in such cases, you will not be able to enter even if you have an admission ticket.
- Admission is free for preschool, elementary, and junior high school students. No ticket is required.
- Elementary school students cannot enter alone. In principle, junior high school students and younger should not visit alone; please ensure they are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or an adult supervisor aged 18 or older.
- Depending on the ticket type, you may be asked to present identification. If you cannot provide the required documentation, you may be asked to pay the difference or be refused entry.
- Disability discount tickets are available for the individual holding a Physical Disability Certificate, Rehabilitation Certificate, Mental Disability Health and Welfare Certificate, Mirairo ID, etc., and one caregiver. Please present the aforementioned certificate at the entrance gate.
- The viewing area for this exhibition is limited; entry to the Ninomaru Palace and Honmaru Palace areas is not permitted.
- Pets are not allowed. (Excluding guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs)
- Tickets cannot be refunded or changed unless the event is suspended or canceled due to the organizer's circumstances.
