Osaka Castle Illuminage: 'Osaka Historical Illumination β Welcome to the World of Shoguns and Samurai!'
This year, the concept was inspired by the majestic presence of Osaka Castle. Focusing on the fascinating historical value of the castle and reflecting on the Sengoku period, this year's Illuminage brings that world to life.
The stone walls of Osaka Castle from different eras have also evolved, now represented through neon illuminations. The fusion of historical depth and modern art invites visitors into a story that transcends time.
LED neon lights featuring iconic Osaka themes will also be appearing one after another. Vivid lights that highlight the charm of Osaka will color the garden at night.
We are continuing the popular project from last year that depicts Osaka's seasonal traditions through light art. Famous landmarks such as Tsutenkaku, temples and shrines, lively markets, and retro streetcars will be brilliantly decorated with vibrant illuminations.
The magical 3D display of Dotonbori and the cute, glowing takoyaki are especially popular with both domestic and international tourists, as well as children. People of all ages can lose themselves in the nostalgic and memorable scenery of Osaka. Why not immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Osaka?

Must Know
- This is an outdoor illumination event. As it gets cold on winter nights, we recommend wearing warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
- Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. The venue is generally flat, but please be aware that there are some gravel paths.
- Photography and video recording are permitted (for personal use only). When using tripods or monopods, please be considerate of other guests. Please contact us in advance if you wish to film for commercial purposes.
- There are shops selling light snacks and drinks within the venue. Please enjoy them along with the illuminations.
- Priority tickets allow entry via the express lane.
- This cannot be used in conjunction with other coupons, special offers, or discounts.
- Tickets cannot be reissued for any reason, including loss, theft, damage, or defacement. Please be careful not to perform the swipe authentication until you are at the entrance on the day of the event.
- If a purchased ticket is resold, it will become invalid, and entry will be refused. Furthermore, no refunds will be provided for tickets refused at the entrance. Please be aware of this in advance.
- Purchased tickets are non-refundable for any reason.
- Some facilities or event areas may be closed depending on the time of year.
- In the event of severe weather, the event may be canceled. In such cases, we will not compensate for travel expenses to the site.
- Re-entry is not permitted. Additionally, no refunds will be issued after entry.
