Immerse yourself in the traditional indigo dyeing craft in Ta Van Village, home to rich textile traditions of ethnic minority communities. This 2-hour workshop offers a hands-on introduction to the art of natural dyeing using indigo—a plant-based dye known for its deep blue tones.
Begin by selecting your preferred item, either a piece of fabric or a T-shirt. You’ll then learn how to create patterns using simple resist techniques such as folding, tying, or binding the material.
Under the guidance of a local artisan, dip your fabric into natural indigo dye vats, observing how layers of color develop through repeated dyeing and oxidation. Each piece becomes unique, reflecting your personal creativity.
This experience not only allows you to create a one-of-a-kind item but also gives insight into traditional craftsmanship and sustainable practices. At the end of the workshop, take home your indigo-dyed creation as a wearable memory from Ta Van Village.
