What you can expect
- Enjoy a full-day excursion from Rome to the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum to discover the area's ancient Roman past with an expert!
You'll be provided high-speed train tickets from Roma Termini Station for your independent journey. Then, you'll be picked up at Naples Central Station and, after a short drive by a comfortable minibus, you will reach the archaeological park of Herculaneum which is much smaller but better preserved than Pompeii. While Pompeii was covered by four to five meters of ashes, Herculaneum was buried under a mud landslide deep 20 meters. Discover the ruins and other archeological highlights; your guide won't miss a stop at the House of Neptune and Amphitrite and the beach where hundreds of skeletons are preserved.

In Pompeii, begin your walk along the Roman streets. Learn about the town's history and how the Romans lived and see all the most important public buildings and private residences, including the Marina Gate, the basilica, the forum, the baths, the lupanar, the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium Capuano, the house of Tragic Poet, and the plaster casts. At the end, the driver will pick you up and transfer you back to Naples Central Station.

- Meeting point description: Take your train from Roma Termini Station. Once in Naples, you will meet your guide outside Starhotels Terminus, opposite Naples Central Station.
- Know in advance:Trains from Rome are comfortable and high-speed. You will reach Naples in 70 minutes
- At Pompeii ruins, travellers will be provided with 'Pompei Express' tickets
- The official admission ticket to Herculaneum costs €16 per adult. The price difference is due to the additional services included in the offer
- If you are travelling with suitcases, it's recommended storing them in a luggage deposit (for example at the station or any facility of your choice) during the excursion. It may not always be possible to accommodate luggage on the minibus, as not all vehicles are equipped with a luggage compartment
- Remember to bring:A valid ID/passport
- Comfortable shoes and sunscreen
- A raincoat - the tour takes place rain or shine
