You'll delve into the various stages of construction, beginning with the remnants of the ancient Visigothic basilica of San Vicente that still stand today, progressing to the old mosque erected by Emir Abderraman I and subsequent expansions up until the Almanzor period. Following the city's capture by the Christian army, the Mosque was transformed into a Cathedral and took over several warehouses due to the expansion under Caliph Al-Hakam II for liturgical celebrations. In later years, the existing transect of the Cathedral was constructed.
