Calligraphy is one of Japan's traditional cultural arts. It is a simple art form of writing characters on white paper with black ink, but its great appeal lies in its profound depth, where the expression of a work changes dramatically depending on the calligrapher. In recent years, the number of overseas customers who are drawn to calligraphy, attracted by the beautiful design of kanji characters, has been increasing. You might think, "Writing kanji seems difficult...", but there's no need to worry. Kanji characters originally originated from pictographs. You can enjoy it easily, almost like drawing a picture or pictogram. Our instructors will provide careful support, so even beginners can create wonderful works of art. Furthermore, it has been scientifically proven that the scent of ink has a calming effect on the mind. Why not create your own original work in the relaxed and tranquil atmosphere of a traditional Kyoto townhouse (machiya)?
