What you can expect

From the arrival of the Romans to the birth of the KitKat, you'll get to find out the complete story of York on this small group walking tour!
With no more than eight people per group we keep it personal - we love questions and you'll never be stuck at the back.

Wander through 2000 years of history in the company of a friendly and fully-qualified guide and see all of York's highlights including the Minster, city walls and world-famous Shambles.

You'll also go off the beaten track and deep into the medieval labyrinth of Snickelways, a collection of narrow streets and paths (as well as learning why they're called that of course). It's the heart of York that few visitors get to see and is only accessible by foot!

Know in advance:Infants (age 0-2) can join the tour for free. Please remember to reserve your free ticket when you book the tour
The tour takes place outdoors and whatever the weather so please bring appropriate clothing and footwear
This walking tour is suitable for all levels but please be aware that some streets are narrow and can be uneven in places. The route is fully accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies/strollers. If you have any particular accessibility requirements please contact the local partner (you can find contact details after checkout)
