What you can expect

This tour presents a remarkable chance for you to witness whales migrating along the striking Lake Macquarie coastline. Depart from Chalmers Street Jetty, situated on the seaside of Swansea Bridge, and embark on a cruise through the unspoiled waters of Swansea Channel. Then, venture along the Lake Mac coastline in pursuit of humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae). Be sure to look out for long-nosed fur seals and common dolphins as well!

Your journey takes place on a custom-built boat designed to shield you from the elements while offering expansive views of wildlife at water level. Annually, tens of thousands of humpback whales traverse the Lake Macquarie coastline during their yearly migration from their summer residence in Antarctica to their winter home around the Great Barrier Reef.

Observations from Lake Macquarie offer one of the most exceptional ways to appreciate these majestic creatures up close.
