Step into a Fukuoka sumo stable to experience traditional Japanese sumo culture up close for a unique and unforgettable journey. First, enjoy a traditional Chanko Nabe lunch prepared by retired sumo wrestlers, featuring the signature cuisine of a sumo stable. Afterward, head to the Fukuoka sumo stable for an immersive look at Japanese sumo culture. Staff will introduce the basics of sumo and its related culture, including fundamental movements like 'shiko' (leg stomping) and hip rotations, as well as the wrestlers' pre-match preparation routines. Next, watch a demonstration of basic sumo movements, including the stomping ritual, sliding steps, and leg stretches. Through on-site explanations, you will learn about the rules of sumo matches, as well as prohibited actions such as slapping, punching, and kicking. The experience will also include a short training demonstration and an official sumo match, allowing you to feel the intense atmosphere of a sumo bout up close and cheer for your favorite wrestler. Afterward, you can step onto the sumo ring yourself, wear a sumo suit, and participate in a sumo experience with the stable members to personally feel the fun of the sport. Experience spots are limited and will be arranged on a first-come, first-served basis. At the end of the experience, you can take photos with the sumo wrestlers in the ring and have the opportunity to purchase special souvenirs, creating unforgettable memories of this unique Fukuoka trip.
