Experience Flow
① Choose your Kanji: Head to a beautiful traditional Japanese-style room that retains the atmosphere of the Edo period. Select your preferred Kanji or phrase from a variety of templates prepared by Master Shuho.
② Choose a comfortable seat: The experience takes place on tatami mats. If you are not used to sitting on the floor or have difficulty with your legs or back, chairs are available on-site so everyone can relax and focus on their creation.
③ Learn about Japanese history and calligraphy techniques: Master Shuho will provide an easy-to-understand introduction to the history and cultural background of the Japanese language, and offer personalized guidance on how to hold the brush and write beautiful characters.
④ Create your own masterpiece: Write your own characters surrounded by the serene scent of ink! With the master's guidance and advice, you will gradually feel more confident in your writing and experience the sense of achievement and emotion as you improve.
⑤ Mounting your work and an exclusive gift: Write your final piece on shikishi paper, which will be mounted on-site into a beautiful 'kakejiku' (hanging scroll) for you to take home. The master will also create a unique, hand-written 'uchiwa' (fan) for you as a souvenir.
