Kairakuen is one of Japan's three most famous gardens, alongside Kenrokuen in Kanazawa and Korakuen in Okayama. Located within Kairakuen Garden, Kobuntei is a two-story, three-storey wooden building personally designed by Tokugawa Nariaki, the ninth lord of the Mito domain.
