Panoramic Views

From here, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Mount Fuji to the northwest, stretching from Suruga Bay to the Izu Peninsula, the Izu Islands, the Shonan coast, and the Boso Peninsula. From Hakone-en on the shores of Lake Ashi in Hakone to the summit of Mount Komagatake in Hakone, the total distance is 1,783m, taking only 7 minutes one way! The mountaintop features an observation deck and Hakone Motomiya Shrine, as well as a large open space. From the summit, a panoramic view unfolds, centered around Lake Ashi below, resembling a miniature garden of Hakone.

Operating Hours

The first train departs at 9:00 AM (inbound). The last departure is at 4:30 P.M. for upbound trips and 4:50 P.M. for downbound trips. Trains run every hour at 00, 20, and 40 minutes past the hour in 20-minute intervals.

For safety reasons, services may be suspended in the event of bad weather such as strong winds or thunder. At the summit, dogs can be taken out of the carrier as long as they are kept on a leash. To ensure the safety and order of passengers, you may not be allowed to board if you do not follow the instructions of our staff.
