Established shortly after Poland's invasion by Germany, Krakow-Plaszow Concentration Camp was situated in the southern outskirts of Krakow. Initially inaugurated as a forced labor camp in 1940, it expanded and transitioned into a concentration camp by 1941. From October 28, 1942, Jews from the Krakow ghetto were deported to Plaszow.

During its operation as a concentration camp, Plaszow provided labor for military factories and quarries. The infamous life within the camp is depicted in Steven Spielberg's film "Schindler’s List" (1993), inspired by Oskar Schindler's story. Today, where the camp once stood are sparsely wooded hills and fields with a prominent memorial to all victims, established in 1964, alongside several smaller memorials.

Given that Plaszow is now part of a nature preserve, Spielberg constructed a replica at Liban Quarry nearby for filming purposes. This tour will include visits to these significant sites.
