The exhibition highlights the history of Kumamoto Castle's "Tenshu." Visitors can explore the castle's journey from its founding to its reconstruction in 1960, and restoration after the 2016 earthquake. The official Kumamoto Castle App (free download) enhances this experience with videos and commentaries.

Project Introduction

Kumamoto Castle Admission Ticket options include a 2-Museum Admission Ticket for both Kumamoto Castle and the Kumamoto Castle Museum Waiwaza, or a 3-Museum Admission Ticket that also includes the Kumamoto Museum. Free Wi-Fi is available in designated areas such as Sakura-no-Babajo Saien and the Comprehensive Tourist Information Center.

The three "Prakita Elevators" in the castle tower are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs or strollers, including caregivers. Emergency rest areas are available for those who feel unwell during their visit.

  • Adult prices apply to high school students and above; child prices apply to elementary school and junior high school students.
  • Visitors who need wheelchairs (including electric wheelchairs) can rent them free of charge in the park (must be accompanied by someone. We will not provide them in case of rain). Due to limited quantity, no reservation service is available.
  • You can bring baby strollers into the park and use them.
  • There are no coin-operated lockers for large luggage in Shuen Garden (including the castle tower). It is strictly prohibited to bring wheeled suitcases into the castle tower. If you wish to store your luggage, please use the coin lockers in front of the Ninomaru Rest Area or the coin lockers in front of the Josaien Tourist Information Center.
