Special Exhibitions

[Entry limited from July 18th to September 6th] The museum will hold a special exhibition themed on “prayer” in the summer of 2026. This exhibition is divided into three parts: Buddhist paintings, auspicious paintings that adorn daily life, and landscape paintings by Higashiyama Kaii (1908-1999), a giant of the Japanese art world.

Kaii's brushwork, described as “a prayer of the heart,” offers tranquility that purifies the viewer’s heart, providing a moment to converse with their inner voice amidst everyday life.

  • From August 1st to August 31st, admission is free for elementary school students. *Parental supervision is required.
  • The museum will be closed on August 18th.
  • Children under 12 can enter for free.
