Getting started
Gather at Go Wholesale Chiang Mai @ Central Airport Plaza by 2:00 PM to start your journey to Nong Sariam. The round-trip shuttle ride takes about an hour, allowing you time for relaxation before reaching the festival site around 3:00 PM. Upon arrival, register and pick up your souvenir bag as you begin exploring.
- The afternoon kicks off with a lively introduction to Lanna culture through engaging activities, traditional entertainment, and community celebrations at the festival grounds.
- Participate in crafting krathongs, lighting candles, and making Thai flags while enjoying cultural performances, boat parades, and canoe shows.
- Explore a local market filled with regional crafts and food before settling down for dinner at around 5:00 PM. A buffet featuring authentic Thai and Northern Thai dishes is available throughout the festival alongside beverages.
- In the evening, collect your Loy Krathong and sky lanterns—standard ticket holders receive three lanterns while VIP guests get five, plus access to an exclusive dining area and reserved seating for performances. The event culminates in a mass release of sky lanterns at approximately 7:30 PM, accompanied by cultural ceremonies, parades, wishing rituals, and fireworks.
Conclude your evening around 9:00 PM as you board the shuttle back to the drop-off point after an memorable experience filled with Lanna traditions, Thai cuisine, and festive entertainment.
