Louvre Abu Dhabi is celebrated for hosting four temporary exhibitions each year, stemming from collaborations between Abu Dhabi and France. In partnership with 13 French museum partners, the institution showcases exceptional artworks to Middle Eastern audiences. One such exhibition, 'Post-Impressionism: Beyond Appearances,' running from October 16, 2024, to February 9, 2025, explores the transformative artistic period between 1886 and 1905. This exhibit features over 100 pieces by artists like Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne, and Seurat who pioneered a departure from Impressionism’s naturalistic style. Notable works include Van Gogh's 'Bedroom at Arles,' showcasing his unique use of color. Selected in collaboration with the Musée d'Orsay, this exhibition traces post-impressionist developments into movements such as Fauvism and Cubism.
No matter how small it may be, make sure to pick up a keepsake from the cozy boutique shop on your way out. This souvenir will serve as a lasting reminder of your visit to this pioneering Arabian Universal Museum.
