Historical Significance
The first worship of the Archangel Michel began here, leading to a proper abbey built by Benedictine monks in the 10th century.
Monks departed in 1790 and the structure gained protected monument status in 1874. It draws just as many crowds today as it did hundreds of years ago.

From parking, you will walk about 45 minutes to reach the Abbey.
