From the Nokogiriyama Ropeway, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of Mt. Nokogiri, known for its uniquely shaped rocks and bizarre stones. On clear days, you might also catch sight of Mount Fuji and Izu Oshima in the distance.

Visitor Experience

The ropeway connects the summit and base of Mt. Nokogiri, offering a quick journey of about 4 minutes. The round-trip ticket allows for exploration both ways, but it does not include priority boarding or reduced waiting times.

At the summit station's observation deck, you can admire the majestic Tokyo Bay with its passing ships and the Miura Peninsula below. Light snacks such as gelato and dumplings are available at the summit station restaurant.

Accessibility

While wheelchairs can board the ropeway, there are no elevators or escalators leading to the base station, summit station, or Nihon-ji Temple. The route involves stairs and unpaved mountain paths.

Important Information

  • If you arrive by car, a separate parking fee will be charged.
  • Entry may be refused without a reservation.
  • Explosives, flammable liquids, and odor-causing items are prohibited.
  • The ropeway may suspend operations during strong winds or adverse weather conditions. In such cases, travel expenses to the site will not be compensated.
  • Closures for inspections or maintenance work may occur without prior notice.

Junior high school students and above are charged adult fares, while elementary school students pay child fares; preschool children enter free of charge.

Must Know

  • This ticket must be exchanged for a regular ticket at the ticket office at the base of the mountain before boarding. (It cannot be purchased at the summit station.)
  • Please note that we cannot offer refunds after purchase for reasons attributable to the customer.
  • If you come by car, a separate parking fee will be charged.
  • Guests coming by bus or similar large vehicle must make a reservation in advance as parking spaces are limited. If you do not make a reservation, you may be refused entry.
  • Bringing explosives, flammable liquids, and items that give off odors is prohibited.
  • The ropeway will be suspended in the event of strong winds or other bad weather. In such cases, we will not be able to compensate for travel expenses to the site, etc.
  • The ropeway may be closed due to inspections, renewal work, etc. Please check the website in advance.
  • As of April 1, 2024, the entrance to Nihon-ji Temple (including Hell View), which is adjacent to the ropeway summit station, will close at 15:00 and the gates will be closed at 16:00. If you are heading towards Nihon-ji Temple, please be aware of the ropeway boarding times.
  • Regarding pets, small dogs weighing less than 10kg may ride with you by paying an additional fee, but pets weighing more than 10kg are not allowed on board.

Cancellation Policy

These tickets can't be rescheduled or cancelled.
