Rang Ghar is a double-storeyed royal pavilion at Joysagar, near Sivasagar in Assam, believed to have been built by the Ahom king Pramatta Singha, who ruled from 1744 to 1750 CE, so that royal families could watch buffalo fights, games and other sporting spectacles. The ground plan is rectangular with small trapezoid-ended annexes at either end, giving the overall footprint an octagonal appearance.
The roof of the structure is parabolic in shape, supported by rows of massive columns and semi-circular arches that show a marked Islamic architectural influence uncommon in earlier Ahom construction. The monument is protected and maintained as a ticketed site by the Archaeological Survey of India, Guwahati Circle.
