Getting started

Arrive at the main entrance in Água Funda and scan your mobile ticket for entry. Security checks are carried out at the gate. Once inside, you can explore the zoo through marked walking circuits at your own pace.

São Paulo Zoo (Parque Zoológico de São Paulo) is Brazil’s largest zoo, home to over 2,000 animals across 230+ species in natural-style habitats inspired by the Atlantic Forest.

Features

• Big Cat Area: Lions, jaguars, and spectacled bears in spacious enclosures framed by native Atlantic Forest vegetation. Most active before 11am.

• Brazilian Wildlife Habitats: Maned wolves, golden lion tamarins, giant anteaters, chimpanzees, and axolotls in habitats built around South American ecosystems. Home to active conservation and breeding programs for several endangered species.

• Elephant and Large Mammal Habitats: Elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and hippos along the main lakeside circuit. The elephant enclosure includes a water feature and open ground.

• Aviaries and Bird Section: Macaws, toucans, flamingos, and endangered Brazilian species in open-air habitats with dense tropical planting.

• Reptile and Amphibian Houses: Temperature-controlled interiors with caimans, snakes, turtles, and South American amphibians. A practical cool-down during the afternoon heat.

• Forest Walking Circuits: Shaded paths loop a central lake through Atlantic Forest canopy, connecting all major animal sections with clear directional signs throughout.

Finish your visit by relaxing in rest areas or stopping at on-site food outlets before exiting the park.
