The Self-guided Discovery Walk Faro's statues, ships and sanctuaries offers an engaging exploration of the city’s hidden gems. This self-guided experience invites participants to uncover local wonders such as the famous Igreja do Carmo with its unique chapel made from bones and skulls, cobbled streets, mysterious underwater statues, and a rooftop bar known for its exceptional cocktails.

Created by Secret City Trails co-founders Kristina & Wendy, this walk is designed to sharpen your senses and encourage appreciation of Faro’s most wonderful details. Participants will solve fun location-based riddles along the way, uncovering stories about geological features that protected the city from the 1755 earthquake, surprising annual parades, and sculptures partially submerged in the sea.

Whether you are a local or new to Faro, this experience offers a fresh perspective on discovery. It’s suitable for friends, couples, families with kids, curious locals, and team-building activities. The walk is flexible, allowing participants to take breaks as needed, and it can be completed within 15 days of starting.
