A garden-style museum awaits visitors at Du Fu Thatched Cottage in Chengdu. The site offers beautiful scenery at every turn, providing a rich cultural experience through various activities.
Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of Du Fu, a renowned poet from the Tang Dynasty. During his nearly four-year stay here, he composed over a hundred poems, cementing its status as a "sacred site" in Chinese literary history.
The current structure has undergone multiple restorations across several dynasties. The iconic thatched cottage is a reconstruction reflecting traditional western Sichuan dwellings.
Friendly reminder: During major holidays such as Labor Day, summer vacation, and National Day, extended service hours will be provided from 8:30-18:30 (ticket sales stop at 17:30). Specific times for these extensions will be announced separately.
The limited number of attraction tickets available for booking applies to all platforms. Free admission is offered to Mainland Chinese visitors aged 60 and above by presenting their original People's Republic of China Resident Identity Card, as well as senior citizens from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and foreigners with permanent residency in the People's Republic of China who present their original Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents.
