Tainan Zuozhen Fossil Museum integrates the former Cailiao Fossil Museum and Natural History Education Museum, co-constructed with Guangrong Elementary School. It offers a brand new look that combines scientific archaeology, education promotion, and tourism and leisure functions to present the unique "hometown of fossils".
The natural and cultural context has shaped Zuozhen into an important fossil research base. The park boasts a total collection of marine and terrestrial fossils, including mammoths, saber-toothed elephants, ancient deer, crocodiles, shellfish, etc. A large number of terrestrial vertebrate fossils have been unearthed, marking a major feature.
