Located in Taitung, the Zhiben Forest Recreation Area features a large medicinal garden. At its highest elevation of 455 meters, it offers panoramic views of the Chibun Hot Spring area. Visitors may encounter groups of Formosan macaques frolicking on the branches.

Zhiben National Forest Recreation Area is located in Beinan Township, Taitung County, at an altitude of 110-650 meters. With a warm and humid climate year-round, the park boasts a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Major attractions include a secondary forest of evergreen broad-leaved trees, a century-old banyan tree, Taiwan orchids, century-old sorrel vines, the Zhiben Stream, waterfalls, a medicinal plant garden, and a suspension bridge.

Herb Garden Experience

Within the park is the Huajian Zhiben Herb Garden, a 300-ping (approximately 200 square meters) garden planted with over 50 kinds of aromatic herbs. This includes the golden-button-shaped Six God Flower and golden-yellow fragrant marigolds, offering visitors a relaxing experience.
