During your visit, you will explore the exhibitions at Sasso San Gottardo independently. The exhibitions include a permanent display titled "Goethe on the Gotthard," a Gotthard watershed light show, a crystal cavern with a resting gallery, a Chamber of Wonders, insights into the Gotthard myth, and an energy cavern.
After exploring the exhibitions, you will take the Metro del Sasso to venture into the mountain's interior. This journey involves walking along a slightly ascending tunnel, covering approximately 2 km on foot in total.
The historic fortress features several stages: troop accommodation, a fire control center, an ammunition magazine, and exhibitions dedicated to General Guisan and the Cold War. Additionally, you will encounter Gun 1 and 2, a machine gun stand, and a panoramic terrace.
The main entrance is located on the Gotthard Pass, about 300 m from nearby hotels/restaurants. The exhibition sector lies approximately 300 m deep within the mountain. It's recommended to use the cantonal road from Flüelen to Göschenen for access. Parking spaces are available directly in front of the main entrance.
