After more than a century as the home of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, an ambitious restoration project following the transfer of all healthcare activities to the new hospital has restored the cultural and artistic glories of the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site.

Architectural Significance

The restoration is considered the most important work of Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and it was declared World Heritage by Unesco in 1997.

During your visit, you can see the Sant Salvador Pavilion, which summarises the history of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and pays tribute to the figure and work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner. You will also explore the Sant Rafael Pavilion, where a historical recreation offers insight into what a hospital ward was like in the 1920s.
