This tour takes you around the cathedral using mobile virtual reality glasses and a personal guide. The Cologne Cathedral isn’t just an architectural wonder, but also a landmark steeped in rich history.
With the aid of mobile virtual reality glasses, this experience becomes even more immersive and tangible. Utilising cutting-edge technology, you can journey through the epochs of this world cultural heritage site and delve into the building history of Cologne Cathedral. From its initial planning stages in the Middle Ages, through the horrors of World War II, right up to the present day, you'll witness its evolution firsthand.
A guide will meet you directly in front of the cathedral at the Kreuzblume, hand over your VR glasses for the duration of the tour and provide an introduction, both technical and historical. The guide will lead the tour and accompany you throughout.
Each of the five stops on the tour consists of the guide sharing fascinating information, followed by you donning the VR glasses and receiving further additional information on the respective cathedral building epoch via headphones. Rest assured, you won’t be walking while wearing the glasses.
