Ibrahim Rauza is a mausoleum complex built for Sultan Ibrahim Adil Shah II of the Adil Shahi dynasty and his queen, Taj Sultana, in Vijayapura (formerly Bijapur), Karnataka. Construction was commissioned by Taj Sultana and overseen by the architect Malik Sandal; accounts of the exact construction period vary, with the complex generally dated to the 1620s-1630s.
The complex consists of a tomb to the east and a mosque to the west, both raised on a common elevated stone plinth and connected by ornamental water channels and fountains. Its bulbous domes, slender minarets, finely carved stone screens (jali work), hanging stone chains, and calligraphic inscriptions represent a mature phase of Deccan Indo-Islamic architecture, blending Persian, Hindu and local decorative traditions. Because of the delicacy of its ornamentation, it is often referred to as the "Taj Mahal of the Deccan" and is said to have influenced the design of the Taj Mahal in Agra.
