This majestic site has a long history: constructed to honor the Pisani family's achievements, particularly when Alvise Pisani became Doge in 1735. Following Venice’s decline, Napoleon took ownership before it was ceded to Austrian control in 1814. Upon Italy's unification in 1866, Victor Emmanuel II briefly resided there; subsequently, it transitioned into state property and has been a national museum since the late 1800s. The villa has hosted numerous distinguished European figures such as Tsar Alexander I of Russia, Gustav of Sweden, Maria Luigia of Parma, among others. A notable historical event occurred in 1934 when Hitler and Mussolini convened here. Its Baroque façade immediately captures attention with a central temple-like structure adorned by a tympanum and Corinthian columns; terraces and statues embellish the sides that conclude with two structures reflecting classical style.
